SecMatters is proud to announce the appointment of Scott Miles as Team Lead for Security Operations Centre (SOC).
Scott is a highly experienced cybersecurity professional with deep technical expertise across defence, banking and finance and other critical sectors.
He began his career in the Australian Army, serving for six years as an Information Systems Technician, where he operated, supported and secured mission-critical systems in complex and high-pressure operational environments.
Following his military service, Scott worked within the banking and finance sector as an Information Security Officer, responsible for protecting critical business operations and information assets, strengthening security controls, and supporting risk-based security decision-making. He later transitioned into offensive security roles as a penetration tester, delivering threat-led testing and vulnerability assessments across a range of critical sectors.
In his role at SecMatters, Scott leads Security Operations Centre (SOC) operations and works closely with clients to onboard and integrate SIEM and SOC capabilities at scale. His focus includes developing and refining detection use cases, strengthening monitoring and alerting, improving incident triage and response and ensuring operational processes and runbooks mature in line with client risk profiles.
Scott brings a calm, methodical leadership style underpinned by strong technical depth and a practical, client-first approach.
Based in Australia, he plays a key role in building resilient, repeatable and high-quality SOC operations that support consistent security outcomes for organisations across the region.
His appointment reinforces SecMatters’ commitment to operational excellence and the delivery of trusted managed security services.
