SecMatters is expanding its managed SOC and SIEM capability in response to growing demand from organisations seeking practical, scalable and responsive cyber resilience support.
The company has recently welcomed Coliban Water to its growing client base, alongside organisations including Eldercare, Haven Home Safe and SANE Australia, as well as clients across mining, healthcare, community services, utilities and other regulated sectors.
Coliban Water provides essential water and wastewater services to communities across north-central Victoria. Its onboarding reflects the trust being placed in SecMatters by organisations responsible for delivering critical and essential services to Australian communities.
“SecMatters has taken the time to understand our environment, listen to our priorities and work with us in a collaborative and considered way. Their Australian based leadership, technical expertise, responsiveness and partnership are helping us strengthen visibility and continue maturing our cyber resilience,” said David Bentley, Manager Technology Platforms & Information Security at Coliban Water.
To support this growth, SecMatters has appointed Chintan Patel as Security Operations Lead. Based in Adelaide, Chintan joins SecMatters from the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network, where he held the role of Digital Operations Lead and supported the delivery of critical healthcare services through operational excellence, digital transformation and practical technology leadership.
Phillip Souter, Director at SecMatters, said Chintan’s appointment forms part of the company’s broader investment in SOC maturity, service delivery and local capability. “As demand grows, we are continuing to invest in the people and capability needed to support our clients. Chintan brings strong operational leadership and service delivery experience, which will help us continue to mature our SOC and deliver responsive, client focused security operations. We are also planning to expand our analyst capability, including locally in regional Bendigo, as we continue building services around the needs of our clients.” says Souter.
SecMatters provides managed SOC and SIEM services designed around each client’s environment, risk profile and operating model. In many cases, clients continue to own their SIEM while SecMatters works alongside them to provide ongoing monitoring, alert triage, incident escalation, threat detection and continuous improvement.
The company is also planning to expand its services to support smaller and mid-market organisations that need better visibility but may not require, or be able to justify, a full-scale SOC. This includes developing a lighter SOC Essentials model for organisations with smaller environments, such as 10–15 endpoints, or those seeking monitoring across cloud based applications, Microsoft 365 and other core business platforms.
This model is designed to provide practical security monitoring without the cost and complexity of a traditional SOC. It will focus on high confidence alerts, AI-assisted triage and ongoing support, helping clients improve visibility, reduce unmanaged risk and scale their cyber maturity over time.
Holly Popovic, Director of Growth and Partnerships at SecMatters, said the company’s growth is being shaped by real client needs, practical delivery and a partnership led approach.
“As we grow, we are working closely with our clients and technology partners to understand what they need now and what they will need next. Obviously not every organisation needs a full scale SOC from day one, but many still need better visibility across their cloud applications, Microsoft environments, endpoints and critical systems. Our focus is on meeting clients where they are, whether that means supporting an existing SIEM, delivering a managed SOC or building a lighter monitoring model that can scale as their needs mature.”
SecMatters is also expanding its capability in line with changing client needs, including AI security, data governance, access control, cloud security, identity, endpoint protection and email security. Its partner ecosystem includes technologies such as Abnormal AI, Concentric AI, Keeper Security and Zscaler.
“AI is changing the way organisations use data, manage access and respond to threats,” said Holly. “Our focus is on building a practical ecosystem around our clients, so they can strengthen resilience in a way that is connected to their environment, maturity and risk profile. Growth for us is not just about adding more clients. It is about building the right capability, partnerships and trust to help clients prepare for what’s next.”
SecMatters’ continued growth reflects increasing demand for cyber resilience services that combine technical expertise, flexible delivery, strong partnerships, ongoing reporting and Australian based leadership.
